On the other other hand, the young loving husband is more eloquent in describing her petu­lant words and behaviour. Once he plucked some blossoming beautiful flowers from the branches of a tree and adorned the tresses of her hair; but, instead of being pleased, she burst out in anger and said that he purposely did this to show his skill in the adornment of flowers to some other lady in love with him.

கோட்டுப்பூச் சுடினும் காயும் ஒருத்தியைக்
காட்டிய சூடினீர் என்று (122)

In another couplet, he says that when he sneezed, she, as usual, wished him long life and in the next moment, she changed her mind and cried bitterly requesting him to say as to who his lady friend was, whose thought gave rise to this* sneeze.

வழுத்தினாள் தும்னினேனாக அழித்து அழுதாள்
யார் உள்ளித் தும்மினீர் என்று (123)
