Thy thirst shall continue !
Dear Arul,
I went through the ‘Puzhamai Selviar” you presented to
me.
I also read with better insight the prologue you penned with reference to our
association.
I wish your thirst continues.
It is not limited in material
scope but it is a search for perfection,let the quest for knowledge and
innovation continue and may I be with you in this journey.
I thank you for the book.
I look at the effort of bringing out this book as a continuing
saga of a social contract.
The thoughts of a father assesed and analysed
by the son and whose son continues to bring foth a testimony for future
on how the baton has been passed on to continue this inherent urge to
explore the fascination of a very classical language.
With my very basic knowledge I was enthralled to read a quote in page 143 of St.Avvai in
para 2 line 5.
வீரர் மரபு
போர் நிகழ்ச்சியின்போது, மன்னன் தானைத் தலைவரைக் கூட்டி உண்டாட்டு நிகழ்த்துவான்.
அப்போது படைத் தலைவர் வீரரின் பாங்கறிந்து பாராட்டுவர்.
ஒரு இளவீரனின் போர் மாண்பைப் புகழும் ஒளவையார், ‘
வேந்தே ! இக்கள்ளை இவனுக்குத் தந்து பின்னர் நீ உண்பாயாக !
இவன் தந்தைக்குத் தந்தை நின் தந்தையின் தந்தையைக் கண்ணிமையாது காத்து, ஆர் செறிப் புண்டு நிற்கும் ஆழிக்குடம் போலப் பகைவன் எறிந்த வேலைத் தாங்கி நின்று பின் மறைந்தான்.
அவன் பெயரனாகிய இவன் கடுமழை காக்கும் பனங்குடைபோல நின்னைக் காப்பான் என்று பாடுகிறார்.
படைவீரர்க்குக் ‘ குடிமரபு ‘ இன்றும் அவர் தொன்மை வீரம் கருதி போற்றப்பெறுவதாகும்.
அத்தகை வீரன் ஒருவன் பகைவர் படையைப் பிளந்து சென்று படைத் திரளின் இடையில் வெட்டுண்டு துணி துணியாய் வேறுபட்டுக் கிடந்த சிறப்புடையனாகிறான்.
வேறொரு வீரன் சிறப்புடைச் செங்கண் புகைய ஒரு தோல் கொண்டு மறைக்கும் சால்புடையனாகிறான்.”
There is greater challenge and exciting possibilities for
you to continue this journey of bringing past thoughts to be put to
future practices in this millenium.
May your journey continue and please remember I am always
there as your refence point.
