I was glad to receive your letter of the 2nd September and I note with special gratification that you have chosen the subject of the Women Poets of the Tamilnad for your Ph.D.thesis.
Women have contributed many hymns to the Rig Veda and women have been responsible for some of the finest outpourings of poesy in the South.The subject you have chosen is very appropriate and I commend your venture.
