COMMUNICATION SKILLS IN THIRUKKURAL
Communication has become an essential skill in life for the very purpose of life in this new world.
Oliver homes said “ what lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us
what matters most ,gets buried under the layers of the skills we develop for the immediate concerns and outward behavior “
Hence , we have to concentrate all abilities and efforts on the task we face , to carry out our mission as well as vision ,communication is an imperative strength for individuals timeless strength in the midst of competition .
Thirukkural , a rich dictionary of morals and virtues , gives unique guidance to improve your skills in expressions so that our voicing and articulations make impressions on the listeners mind .
good idea of introduction of a concept should not put in jeopardy an embarrassing situation .he gives an important suggestion to speak to an individual ( or ) to an audience as follows :
God omen to whom the arts of expression and sequence are known should sede occasion , meet and say what could they have made their own . the person who knows to use the words should speak with a clear knowledge about the direction to which the conversation goes and also the time ascertained is appropriate .
the person who sells a product should have learnt and understood about it will so that the fault less examines the selection of words in succinct comprehension to part a way into the cave of consciousness of the listener The instinct of subtlety combined with sound scholastic lore, will not have any contrivance to explain his idea to the person with all ears.
Thiruvalluvar given an essential *concept that when you narrate and introduce a product your expression should find a clear pathway and the words chosen should travel in the direction expected.
You should feel and understand that the conversation should have smooth voyage.
He calls the expression as a journey of a tour and you take the listener as a partner of your passage.
Your syllables should not be superficial as it makes float away as a breeze in the relationship. In the midst of the narration, you should listen to yourself that there is no misguidance of your exposition. It is said that the speaker who is simply a window, is good. The
window shows a still moon; brings in the wind; and the mute blazing light.
Your expression and narration should bring out the softness and birdiness of your hidden self to enter the bit of Horizon to take your partners who has opened his time and ears for your phrases and fairies. What floats between you and your listener should be simply white, the simple white of your milky noble.
Always feel that it is your bit that you occupy the chair of your host to share his time without understanding the purpose of your visit.
Rabindranath Tagore, even at the age of 80 years, has written that, “He has some hesitation and some uncertainty, be which word shall choose, to convey my best. When you speak, to express your concept, to form, is always an organic decision. When selecting the language units, changing the unit of sound carried in each word, the impulse being whether to say it (or) not to say it will always come and go. Your freedom of expression will fly away when you feel that your direction of flow of words speaks away. This is what emphasized in this KURAL:
Know your concept Know your words; Feel the direction of expression; Be succinct; You will be successful.
