If English is said to be a language of commerce,Russian is considered the language of science,if German is praised as a language of philosophy,if Sanskrit is respected for its Holy scriptures,Tamil can rightly be called the language of divine poesy.It is not an exaggeration if we say that Tamil is a medium to express whatever philosopher of whatever religions in the universe.We have Manimekalai,the Buddhist Scripture,which forms its classic in Tamika,we have Jeevaga chintamani,a classic on Jainism and Tembavani for Christian Protestants so Ratchanaya Yathrigam for Christian Catholics and Seeraapuranam for Muslims and hymns of Alwars on vaishnavism so songs of nayanmars on saivasim.thus we have in our literature the very cream of all the religions and they are rightly expounded in the best books of Tamil.
