ஆளுமை வளர !

தமிழ்ச் செம்மல் டாக்டர் ஔவை மெய்கண்டான்
மழலையர், நரம்பியல் மருத்துவ வல்லுநர், மதுரை
ஆளுமை குடும்பச் சொத்தா
அன்னை தந்தை மரபணுப் பரிசா
சுற்றுச் சூழல் கற்றுத் தருவதா
மண் வளர்ச்சியும் புரியாத புதிர்தான்
திரைப்படங்கள் தொலைத் தொடர்கள்,
இதழ்களின் பக்கங்கள், கதைகள், கலைகள்
குழந்தைகளின் ஆளுமையை ஆட்சி செய்கின்றன
தொடர்புத் திறன், உள்ளத்தை ஊடுருவி
உருமாற்றம் செய்கின்றன.
பழைய கருத்துகள் புதைபட்டு மிதிப்படுகின்றன.
வரைந்தோம் உலகத்தில் ஆற்றலும் ஆளுமையும்
பழங்காலக் காட்சிப் பொருளாய்த் தூசி தட்டப்படும்
தொலைந்த ஓவியங்களாய்த் தொங்குகின்றன.
அன்பு வழி வளரும் ஆளுமை என்ற
சிக்மன் பிராய்டின் சிந்தனையை எங்கும் காணோமே!

Is personality family legacy?
Or chromosomal gift of genes?
Or circumstance bred learning?
Or soil-trait to puzzle all probe?
Celluloid to serial silver screen stuff,
leaves of journals, fiction and arts
seem wiring the kid- world fancies;
whither is gone the the power to communicate, to touch the hearts,
to metamorphose
and change altogether,
the ancient concepts
have gone buried
and trodden down;
as drawn canvases power and person
like archaic museum pendants
do chandelier like bygones dusty!
